Here’s our pictures from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2016. This year we went on “Goosey Night.” If you hail from New Jersey, you’ll know that’s the night before Halloween.
Before the party we had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and had fun recreating some pictures we took back when the boys were in 6th grade. They’re in 11th grade now, and boy… What a change. It seems like just yesterday that we took the originals. I had initially taken the photos on my phone and loaded them up to Instagram, so I did exactly the same thing this time around, FX and all.
They came out so cute! Ha ha!
After dinner, we hopped on the monorail, and look who I ran into… Elsa! OMG! Let me tell you, she’s even more gorgeous in person!
It was a beautiful night for the party!!
It’s been a few years since we’ve done the party, but this year they ushered ticket holders over to the side, to a separate Welcome Line. We received our goody bags, took advantage of some photo opportunities, and were able to start trick-or-treating right away. It was awesome! The only thing I will say is… The goody bags were considerably smaller than in past years, when I attended. Bring your own.
I had to coax the boys a little to cooperate, but they were good sports!
We arrived around 4:30, so once we were through the line, Marcos and I decided to double back to Main Street, to enjoy all of the Holiday sights and smells until the party started. The boys hit the rides.
Around 6:30 we met up with the boys at the Kodak Theater, so we could get in line to say “Hello” to Mickey.
After Mickey, we enjoyed more of Main Street and some people watching.
These guys were so cool. They darted in and out of the crowd just like in the Super Mario Bros. games.
And this couple really got into the Christmas spirit!
Her dress is awesome, and his Christmas OppoSuit came from Macy’s. They have several different styles and are about 100 bucks, if you’re interested. I don’t know how I know that?
I love it when the entire family participates!
Just for giggles… And because we were there. And there wasn’t any line. The guys agreed to say “hey” to Snow White. I pushed them. A little.
The party was now in full swing. We had to go back outside to take some pictures, and see the Headless Horseman.
After pictures, the guys hit up the rides. They must have done Buzz Lightyear over 15 times. They’re crazy!
While the boys were doing that, we staked out our spot for the Boo To You! parade.
As always, the Headless Horseman started off the Parade.
I was experimenting with my camera, playing with different lenses and different settings, so a lot of my parade pictures didn’t come out. Bummer.
After the parade, we split up again. Marcos and I went over to do Pirates of the Caribbean and hang around in Frontierland, while the boys rode Splash Mountain a couple of times.
Then it was time for the fireworks!
Of course, we hung out with all the Ghosts over at the Haunted Mansion!
Lady Carlotta DuBois was haunting the place on the way in! She was looking Spooktacular, as always.
And on the way out, we found Lady Carlotta’s twin sister, Lady Renata! They both looked absolutely Boo-ti-ful! Bless their cold, dead hearts.
Those crazy kids, trying to be cool and “Dabbin'” on Space Mountain!
We wound down the evening by just walking around, and people watching.
I don’t care how old you are… MNSSHP really gets you in the Holiday Spirit! Kids or no kids, young or old, to me it’s worth the price of admission. I’ve said it 1000 times, but you really need to do it at least 2 nights to see MOST everything and take it all in. We missed the Villains show, tons of characters, the dance parties, etc.. Maybe next year I’ll convince the Boss to stay over and do two nights. You never know… He might say “yes.”
