The Cone of Shame

Anneke had a big day at the vet this week. First, she was spayed. Next, the vet had to remove her baby canine teeth, as they never fell out.

When she first came home, she didn’t have the cone. She didn’t even seem to notice the incision. That is until yesterday, when I caught her licking it. The incision appeared to be opening, so I rushed her back to the vet.  They applied staples and gave her the cone of shame. Sigh…

My poor baby HATES it. She’s so depressed… I feel so bad. When Gubler had to have the cone, he was thrilled.

He strutted around like he was the king. He thought he was hot stuff. I guess I was hoping for the same with Anneke, but not so much… She seems to have more sense, lol.

The Cone of Shame

The worst is when she has an itch, that she just can’t scratch.  Of course, I do my best to help her out. My poor ‘wittle baby.’

I know she’s sore. She whines and cries when she wants to go up or down off the couch. That is… Unless she hears someone rustling around in the kitchen. I guess the thought of food is worth a little pain. Typical.

It’s only for a week. She’ll have the staples taken out on Friday. It can’t come soon enough.
