Every year about this time, I get the “Holiday Blues.” Maybe you can relate… Missing family in heaven, no extended family around, not enough funds as I’d like, stuck in a tiny townhouse when everyone else is enjoying decorating their lovely homes, worried about this person, worried about that, etc., etc.. The usual selfishness. So this year, I vowed to keep so busy, that I wouldn’t have time for the blues. I actually had plans for the day, but they changed last minute. Bummer. My husband, in an attempt to cheer me up, took me shopping. Tarpon Springs was having a craft show, so we decided to go and check it out.
The vendors had your typical craft fair stuff, with only one or two exceptions. (I’m actually hoping to catch up with a specific vendor in a few weeks.) But, we had a lot of fun perusing the boutiques and antique shops.
The most awesome mirror ever. A full length keyhole!
And that tie! I’m dying! I told my husband that I wanted him to buy it and wear it. He gave me that look, and laughed. Guess not. I love it! I like it so much, that I just might go back and buy it for myself. I have no idea if I’d wear it? Or just hang it somewhere in the bedroom? Hmm??
My hubby bought me a few goodies at that shop. He was actually very generous. (But, I will be sneaking back to get that frog tie, as well as a few other odds and ends.)
We stopped in at the Railroad Museum. I love history, and I’m fascinated with the way people used to live. I probably should have been a historian or a historical sociologist.
I need a sign like this for my house…
And OMG… Look at those Santos!
They were selling as a pair for 1,500.00. I was dying. I begged and pleaded. My husband said “heck no…” (That’s not exactly what he said, but you know… ) He said that they were creepy, and if he came in the house and saw them there, and didn’t know any better, he’d kick them! What? I’m gonna start a side stash. Creepy or not, if they are there, the next time I go back, they’re mine.
The angel, who I assume is Gabriel, didn’t even have a price tag. I was afraid to ask. Sigh…
I wanted to head over to the Sponge Docks after that, but my husband’s kind gesture was quickly coming to an end. He wanted to go home and heat up some leftovers. I can’t complain. It was a good afternoon.
