A Gorgeous Sunday

It was such a beautiful Fall day! The Sandhill Cranes passed by early this morning. They wanted some treats, but I didn’t have anything acceptable to give them. We need to make a run to the feed store.

In Florida, our Sandhill Cranes are protected. They are such beautiful and graceful birds. I can’t imagine hunting them.

This is a family unit. Mom, Dad and Baby. The baby isn’t so little anymore. I just love watching them.

My son didn’t care that it was nice out. He was holed up in his cave playing Xbox. I asked him ‘why he didn’t call the other kids to get together and do something.’ He said ‘they were busy.’ ‘Doing what?’ ‘Playing Xbox!’ (insert facepalm here.) Sigh…

Not me… I wasn’t about to stay cooped up in the house all day. The laundry, dishes and dog hair would all still be there when I got back. (Unfortunately.) So… We went to the park for an afternoon walk.

We’ve been going to different parks every weekend. It’s great exercise, and I love to just be out with nature.

There were tiny little toads all over the place.

Whenever I see a hole like this in a tree trunk, I go back to my childhood and imagine what kind of animal or creature lives in there. A rabbit? A gnome?

And red mushrooms… I’m definitely looking for fairies and elves.

We must have gone about 5 miles when we came to…

This! A lake! There was no way around all that water. Yuck! What a mess. Oh, well…

Yuck!

What'cha gonna do?

What’cha gonna do? Guess I’ll be washing my sneakers tonight.
