On the third day of vacation, we went island hopping. We hired a guide to take us around. (I had to break down Day Three into two different blog posts, as it’s so picture heavy.)
When we got to the dock, the locals were getting their boats ready for a small regatta in honor of their big holiday, Emancipation Day.
We got to see the homes and playgrounds of the rich and famous… David Copperfield, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, The heirs of Johnson and Johnson, and many more. I really need to win the lottery. Sigh…
There are quite a few research stations out among the islands.
And caves and caverns galore. We stopped to check this little one out.
And then on to some snorkeling…
So beautiful! Like swimming in a fish bowl! (None of us are experts with the Go PRO camera yet.)
After snorkeling we headed out to feed the iguanas!
How cool is that?! The whole island is full of them.
They are pretty aggressive. You have to feed them with a stick, so they don’t chomp off your fingers.
And we’re off again…
Our next experience was at Compass Cay. Amongst the million dollar yachts, you can actually “swim with the sharks,” and live to tell about it. If you’re brave enough!
It was such an awesome experience. And we’re not talking about tiny little sharks as you can see from the picture below.
Their skin felt like sand paper!
The fun didn’t end with the sharks! We were off again!
