We spent another great weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. We didn’t celebrate Father’s Day earlier, so this is what my husband wanted to do. It was pretty laid back. We booked club level, and had only one dining reservation. We had a lot of time to relax and enjoy the amenities, and the atmosphere of the resort. Get ready for a gazillion pictures…
After we arrived at the front desk, they escorted us upstairs to the club level for check in.
We had a “few” snacks while we waited. We have way too many magic bands attached to our MDX, so there were a few issues. I called Disney as soon as I got home to get it taken care of.
The rooms haven’t changed since the last time we visited. They still look new and updated.
Thank goodness, the view hasn’t changed either.
After check in, we headed off to our only dining reservation… Lunch at The Rainforest Cafe.
The Rainforest Cafe is my husband’s favorite “non-Signature” restaurant at Disney. The food was good, as always.
When we arrived back to the room, they had already been there for the nightly turn-down service.
My son didn’t want to share the chocolate lollipops. He thinks he’s funny.
After a quick pit stop, we headed back up to the lounge for coffee.
We might have had a few post-lunch nibbles too!
We stopped off at the gift shop. My husband bought me two Pandora charms and a coffee mug.
I got the “Rhinos are just Chubby Unicorns” coffee mug. I can relate. 🙂
Then back to the room again, for some animal watching and a siesta.
It’s a pretty amazing resort.
After spending several hours doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, we returned to the club level for some amazing desserts.
How gorgeous is that? The butterflies are white chocolate.
The key lime cheesecake was awesome!
After dessert, it was time for the pool!
What a relaxing day!
I got up pretty early in the morning, and decided to take advantage of the fact that the boys were still sleeping. I took some time to walk around, and admire all of the artwork and displays that are tucked away into every nook and cranny. The whole resort is very museum-like.
Seriously… The displays are never-ending.
This guy is so cute and happy!
They have several viewing areas where, even if you don’t have a Savannah or Arusha view from your room, you can sit and have a drink and enjoy the animals.
Both Jambo House and Kidani Village have fire pits to enjoy at night.
I met up with the boys for some breakfast in the lounge.
And yes, they do have Jungle Juice.
We took a walk to burn off some calories. I wanted to go swimming again, but the boys vetoed me. What’s wrong with them?
They didn’t wanna do the hot tub either.
The Flamingos were still sleeping! I guess they don’t know the early bird catches the worm… Or shrimp… Sorry, I was attempting to be funny.
Do I really have to go home?
We spent the rest of the time at the resort relaxing back in the room, and watching the animals. That’s what my husband wanted to do for Father’s Day… Lots of nothing. It worked for me.
Before we said Goodbye, we headed upstairs for a few more snacks.
I hope you had a great Father’s Day weekend, Babe! You are the best Dad and Husband, ever!
At the last-minute, we decided to go to SeaWorld. How random is that, lol. Before heading over there, we stopped by to see the puppies at the Kennel.
We walked them, and let them play for a little while.
We’ll be back in a little while, Liesl!
