For our trip to Disneyland, we stayed at the Grand Californian.
It’s very much like the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World. It’s more Craftsman Style than Rustic, but still has a similar ambiance. It’s a bit more “Hoity Toity.”
The rooms are bigger than the Wilderness Lodge…
They also provide evening turndown service with little chocolates.
By the time we landed, and got through Downtown Disney, the restaurants were closing. My husband was starving. We stopped in to the gift shop to get some snacks, but unlike Disney World resort gift shops that offer lots of food choices… The only snack they had at the Grand Californian was candy. I was pretty shocked.
My husband decided to order from Room Service. Whaat???
We never order from room service… And after this, we probably never will again.
Now, does that look like $12.50 worth of Quesadillas? No, to me either. But that’s how much it cost. It.Wasn’t.Even.That.Good.
You better believe I packed those little bottles and took them home with me. They cost a fortune. This is why they don’t offer snacks in the gift shop. So they can charge an arm and a leg for room service. Next time my husband will starve!
3.50 for a can of soda! Good Grief. I ate every crumb.
We had a pretty nice view of the pool.
My sister and and the kids arrived the next morning. I missed them!
The kids liked the fireplace. It was easy to forget how hot it was outside.
My sister got a bunk bed room.
The pool area is very nice. There are two pools, and a kiddie pool.
The kids spent most of the time at the pool on the slide!
It’s a very nice resort, but next time it’s back to the Disneyland Hotel.
Enough of a Siesta… It’s time for California Adventure!
