DIY flooring

There’s a reason I haven’t shared certain areas of my home. They aren’t in the best shape yet, and I’m completely embarrassed. One area would be the stairs and my upstairs hallway. We have Berber carpets running throughout and when Liesl was a puppy, she tore them up. Not to mention the other “accidents” she and Gubler had. I don’t want to offend anyone if you like Berber, but I hate it! It’s rough and it pills and dust collects at the edges by the baseboard and doesn’t come off unless you get down on your hands and knees and scrape it off.  At least in my house, with two dogs and a 14 year old.

Berber Carpet

We’ve wanted to replace the Berber with hardwood or faux hardwood for sometime, but just haven’t had the money to get someone to come out and do it. We thought about doing it ourselves, but I’ve seen so many DIY shows where it was a disaster.

I recently found out that friends of mine decided to take the leap. I was so impressed and thought if all goes well with them, I might give it a try.

I texted my friend Amber yesterday to see how it was going. This is the actual text. Please forgive the French!

DIY Flooring

Bahahaha! Well… Guess that about sums it up.
