It’s just our luck, that on the night we attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it rained.
We arrived a little late, so we hung out on Main Street, while waiting for the parade to start.
We did some “Window Shopping.”
There is absolutely nothing like Christmas at the Magic Kingdom, to make you feel nostalgic for Christmas past.
The sights, sounds and fantasy of it all, just draws you in.
I so wanted to splurge on some goodies.
Do you see the fruit sticks on the top left? Who the heck is going to get one of those, when you have all these other goodies to choose from? If I was a child and my Mother bought me one of those, I’d throw it at her. And then I’d bite her. Anyway…
We couldn’t go too far, because it was time to stake out our spot for the parade.
Shortly after the snow starting falling, the rain started. It was light at first and didn’t seem to affect the parade. The snow is absolutely beautiful, and just so stinkin’ magical.
I was so getting into the Christmas Spirit!
I’ve been a good girl, Santa! Really! See you soon!
By the end of the parade, it was more than a drizzle. We hung out under the awnings of Main Street while we waited for the Fireworks. My husband was already growling. Sigh…
The rain made everything pretty slippery. Right before the Fireworks started, some poor lady wiped out right in front of me. She eventually got up, but I think she probably hurt a little more than her pride.
The fireworks went on as planned, but the rain got heavier.
As soon as the fireworks were over, we left. Bummer. I didn’t even get to have any cookies or cocoa. We live very close, so I’m not sticking around in the rain, party or no party. It’s not worth listening to my grumbling, cranky husband. There’s always next year. Bummer. It was fun while it lasted.
But… The best part of the night came with some news, a short time later. It turns out, that while we were watching the fireworks, I became an aunt again.
Welcome to the world little one. Isn’t he precious?
