Here’s some photos of our recent anniversary trip to Disney’s Polynesian Resort. We had a blast!
The Great Ceremonial House
We stayed in a “theme park view” room in Tuvalu. It was great!
View from the room
Views from the water taxi ride to the Magic Kingdom
This is the beach area that will remain open with the construction of the Villas.
We did the Hoop Dee Doo Revue for dinner the first night. It’s so much fun! From the Polynesian you can take a water taxi to the Magic Kingdom, and then once at the Magic Kingdom, you can take a different water taxi to the campgrounds.
View at sunrise from the room
It was Bee-yoo-ti-ful!
You can see the crane next the castle. They were finishing up with the Christmas lights.
We didn’t do the dining plan this trip, so we brought our own continental breakfast from home. It worked out well and allowed us to sleep late.
And here’s a view of the castle with the crane from inside The Magic Kingdom.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Ride
Can’t wait till it’s open!
I forced my son to stop in at the new Fairytale Hall to see Rapunzel. I had a fast pass, so it wasn’t so bad (for me.) My poor son was utterly embarrassed but handled himself well. Sometimes he can be a good sport!
The background makes for some great pictures!
We did Kona Café for dinner one night. I recommend the wings. They were great!
The renovated rooms have new “neckroll” pillows on the bed. I wonder if the cast members, who designed the bedding, knew they would be the perfect size and shape for pillow fights? I can’t take those boys anywhere!
View at night from the room
This is why you get a room with a theme park view! We watched the fireworks and electrical water parade from the room on two different nights. They did the electrical water parade different on both nights. Here’s the first night.
We rented a cabana at the pool and it was so worth it.
The cabanas provide waitress service, a fresh fruit platter, a fridge stocked with soft drinks, a TV and iPhone charging station.
And the bathroom doors in the room at the Polynesian…? There is a glass insert. Every time I had to go potty or take a shower, this is what I had to put up with. Seriously?
Of course, we did O’Hana’s for dinner one night.
And… Here’s the fireworks and electrical water parade on the second night we watched it from the room.
And more pillow fights…
After our stay at the Polynesian, we hopped on over to the Wilderness Lodge for a few more nights. To be continued…
