Disney’s Unleash the Villains on Friday the 13th

If you expected a post about the Villains, I’m sorry to disappoint you. Join the club. Disney’s Unleash the Villains on Friday the 13th was a BUST! We promised to take the kids to Hollywood Studios for the special event, but we never made it. The traffic was bumper to bumper and we couldn’t even get off the exit after sitting in traffic for… THREE HOURS!!!! Yes, no exaggeration. We thought we had left early enough to get there and grab a bite to eat before the fun started. Boy, were we wrong.

Thank goodness for smart phones because I was able to see that they had already closed the Hollywood Studios Parking Lot, and were sending folks to park at EPCOT. And… The pictures people were posting showed wall to wall people, with captions saying you “couldn’t even breathe.” That was at 7:30 and the event didn’t even start until 8:00. We then said the heck with it. The whole reason for going was to see the bad guys and get some photos with the rare characters such as Oogie Boogie and Hades. We knew it wasn’t going to happen. We were pretty cranky at that point. And stiff… and thirsty… Who wouldn’t be after sitting in traffic so long?

We decided to do the unthinkable. The first chance we got to get out of that traffic jam, we turned around and went to Universal Studios. It was too late to do much, so we decided on dinner and a movie.

We had fun. It wasn’t Disney, but I guess we were able to salvage the night somewhat.

The boys had a few laughs…

And at 11:45 PM we caught the last movie. YAWN…

Universal Studios City Walk

I was actually able to get one character picture, after all.

Olaf, from Disney’s new movie, Frozen. Bahaha!

So, the day didn’t go as planned, but… The kids reminded me it was Friday the 13th. I guess it could have been a lot worse. (I know it’s not gonna be pleasant when my husband gets the credit card bill.) Sigh…
