Another Weekend at Disney

We decided on a last minute trip to Disney this weekend. I know…  I’m crazy for attempting it in this heat, especially after my meltdown at the Coronado Springs, but whatever. We stayed at the Yacht Club again. We got a standard view this time, with one queen bed and a day bed.

It rained again. It actually poured. It always rains when we stay here. Sigh… We were forced to buy some good ol’ Mickey ponchos.

On a better note, I was able to score a reservation at Be Our Guest for dinner!  This is our second time for dinner, the first was on Thanksgiving.

You can see that even with our trusty ponchos on, we arrived soaking wet.

There are three dining rooms. The first one is the Ballroom. The pictures aren’t the greatest, but this is a VERY dark restaurant and they ask that you don’t use a flash.

Through the windows, you can see the snow falling. It’s beautiful! We had dinner in the ballroom on Thanksgiving.

The second dining room is the Rose Gallery. It contains the giant music box of Belle and Beast dancing.

We had dinner in the West Wing. It’s the smallest of the three dining rooms. It features the famous enchanted Rose.

The Beast periodically poked his head in to say “hello!”

And on the way out, we stopped to thank him for his hospitality!

After dinner, probably because the rain cleared out the park, we were able to walk right onto the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I know I shared some pictures last time, but here’s a few more.

After the Little Mermaid, we headed back to the resort. We had an early start the next day.

We loved the fact that the room had a privacy curtain, to separate the two sleeping areas.

We had breakfast at the Cape May Café. It’s located next door at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

And for the first time in a while, both of my boys were cooperating! Woot!

At the Magic Kingdom, it was Long Lost Friends Weekend. They brought out some very rare characters for some special meet and greets.  It was very hot, and their sessions were very short, so we only got to see two sets of characters. The Gang from Song of the South, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear and Brer Fox.

And the characters from Robin Hood, The Sheriff of Nottingham, Prince John, Robin Hood and Friar Tuck.

At least I got the chance to see Robin Hood and Brer Fox. They were on my most wanted list.

It was another stinkin’ hot day. I was dying. We did Space Mountain three times, Big Thunder Mountain twice, Splash Mountain and the Jungle Cruise. We hadn’t done the Jungle Cruise in ages.

I love the way even the scariest of human beings can look sweet and friendly at Disney!

And then it started to rain again, and my husband said “Enough!” I didn’t even get a chance to step a toe into a store. Ha-ha… I think that’s the way my husband had it planned. So no Disney haul this trip. Boo Hoo!

Oh, and one more thing…

Magic Band Testing

We were lucky enough to be invited to try these out. They worked beautifully!

Leave a comment. I'd love to know what you're thinking!
