Covered Books

I haven’t had much time to spend on my blog lately, but I have caught up on some things around the house. I finally attempted to cover some books… My first inspiration was from Ballard Designs.

My version isn’t as complicated or permanent, but I like the way they turned out.

Instead of gluing anything to the actual books, I covered them the old-fashioned way, the way you would cover text books for school.

It wasn’t a “cheap” project.

Between the wrapping paper and the maps, it probably cost me between $25.00 to $30.00.

For some of the books, I cut out left over images from the maps, and glue-sticked them onto the spines, over the wrapping paper.

Here I used an old silver charm with a ribbon to create a book mark.

The roll of wrapping paper covered quite a few books, and I’ll share the rest sometime soon.

I love your covered books-great choice of paper. I wonder if you could do some of the smaller books with scrapbook paper-Michaels has it 3 sheets for a dollar-or sometimes 10 for a dollar.
