Dear Son’s Birthday is only a few days after Christmas. In other words… We’re usually flat broke this time of year. (Not that our poverty isn’t a year round thing, it’s just way worse this time of year, lol.)
We’re always careful not to shortchange him in the gift department. The bad thing is… He only had six things on his Christmas and Birthday List. A Hoodie Buddie, Reebok Zigs, Turtle Beach Headphones, an X-Box live renewal, a new I-Phone, and a MacBook Pro. Well, five out of six isn’t too shabby. Despite the fact that he didn’t receive the MacBook laptop, he is well on his way to saving for it. I don’t think he has reason to complain. He certainly isn’t deprived.
The best gift of all was a surprise visit from his cousins. We surprised him at Disney!
We had pizza for dinner at The Boardwalk …
And ice cream for dessert at Beaches and Cream!
The kids split a Kitchen Sink, which consists of eight scoops of ice cream, an entire can of whipped cream, and every single topping available. The only thing missing was the cherries. None of our kids like them… Sigh…
They turned off all the lights and everyone sang “Happy Birthday.” He was so embarrassed, but loved every minute.
They couldn’t wait to dig in.
My brother in law’s ice cream was almost as impressive. He ordered the “No way, Jose.” I suppose it’s called that, as there’s no way any normal human being could eat the whole thing.
Even the kids couldn’t finish it all…
But they had fun trying!
After ice cream, we headed over to the arcade.
And enjoyed the motion simulators.
Even the grown ups had fun! (I use the term “grown ups” loosely.)
The whole night was a great surprise. But the fun didn’t end there… We stayed to play, and spent the next day at Hollywood Studios.
Most of us did The Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster…
We all did MuppetVision 3D.
We took pictures by the Christmas Store…
I wish it really would snow in Florida. Just for a day. I need an appointment with the Miser Brothers.
We caught The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
And we finished out The Studios with The Osborne Lights.
We had one final bit of fun planned.
The Whispering Canyon Cafe at The Wilderness Lodge. Yummy.
Some of us participated in the Pony races. Lol!
We enjoyed some really great BBQ!
And then someone asked for the ketchup!
That’s a lot of ketchup! After a huge meal, and a day and a half of fun, the kids were wiped out.
Happy Birthday Buddy! If only all family birthday parties were like this. I hope you had a blast!
