Liesl and Gubler

Gubler is adjusting to life at our house and we are adjusting to him. It’s been a little bit rocky. Gubler escaped out of the harness a few nights ago, and we thought he was gone for good. We searched and searched but he was no where to be found. We have a swamp on one side of our development and a major highway on the other. In between is an outdoor strip mall. Dear Son was devastated, as were we.

Someone must have been watching over all of us, because somehow he safely found his way over to the next development and a nice family took him in for the night. We didn’t even have a chance to get an address tag made, so they located us through his rabies tag, and brought him home the next morning. Phew… We immediately purchased a new harness and an id tag.

Liesl and Gubler

Liesl is coming around and seems to enjoy having someone to play with. Gubler, as small as he is, is holding is own. There doesn’t seem to be an issue with the size difference, as Liesl seems to know she is dealing with someone smaller. The only cry of help came when Liesl stepped on his leg when it was stuck in between the cushions on the couch.

Liesl and Gubler

Liesl is still VERY jealous! She’s never climbed up on any of our laps before… She’s a bit too big. But that didn’t stop her, lol.

Liesl and Gubler

I know it’ll take some time to create a new normal, but for now… Gubler seems pretty happy to me.

I am so happy that the babies seem to be ajusting. Poor Liesl just needs a little extra love to know she won't be replaced. I bet they will end up best of friends.
