We took the kids on an quick tour of Manhattan. My husband was leaving for home that night, and we wanted to have dinner with my grandparents before he left, so we had to hustle. We actually covered a lot of ground!
Entering the Lincoln Tunnel…
The kids were excited at the idea of being under the water.
My niece was a little scared. Lol!
We walked around the theater district…
The kids posed with New York’s finest…
And a NY taxi…
We bought them something from a news stand…
We visited Times Square…
We showed the kids where the ball drops, on New Year’s Eve.
And yes, we got hot dogs and pretzels from the Hot Dog Truck/Roach Coach. All must do’s.
We took the kids to Toys R Us. (I would have preferred FAO Schwarz, but that will have to wait for another time.)
They were surprised at what waited for them inside.
An indoor Ferris Wheel!
They had fun!
The kids could have stayed there all day, but we had more to do and see.
A trip on the Subway!
And then we made a stop for the obligatory New York Pizza.
After lunch, we were off to the Statue of Liberty.
We took the Staten Island Ferry.
There she is.
After the Statue of Liberty, it was time to go home. Everything else would have to wait until next time.
My niece got a Central Park Puppy as a souvenir. She was thrilled.
Goodbye New York. See you next time! I’ll miss you!
